Updated: Aug 9, 2019

If you're a business, school, university, college, or someone who would like join us in awareness; please contact us. Let's go purple for epilepsy awareness.

Epilepsy Early Education and Awareness Program is designed to educate and increase basic knowledge about epilepsy and seizure management among students, school personnel, and families.

Epilepsy is one of the most common neurological disorders of childhood. However, in America, as well as in most of other developing countries, little attention has been paid to improve the public knowledge regarding epilepsy. Currently public attitude toward epilepsy is rather negative, full of prejudices and bias. Children with epilepsy in the United States still find themselves confronted with social barriers that prevent them from academic achievements; in addition to current limitations.

This program is to implement the knowledge about types of seizures, how to recognize a seizure, and what to do when a seizure occurs. This program is to eliminate perceived stigma and dispel myths that is associated with epilepsy and provide a safe and supportive environment for youths living with epilepsy.

Long Term Impact

Epilepsy Early Education & Awareness Project will conduct a simplified approach to educate and provide our student with the basic knowledge about epilepsy. This program will provide self administered questionnaires, seminars, and other educational resources. The approach will contained questions relating to epilepsy awareness, attitudes, and first-aid management of seizures. This Project will improve the knowledge, attitude, and practice of epilepsy education within our schools.
